EQ (Equalization)

Subtractive EQ is key! Cut the mud (200-500Hz) to let the low-end breathe, and add air (8kHz+) for clarity.

Compression

Control the dynamics. Aim for 3-6dB of gain reduction to glue your tracks together without killing the life of the sound.

Gain Staging

Keep your levels safe! Aim for -18dB RMS on individual tracks to ensure you have enough headroom for the master fader.

Reverb

Always high-pass your reverb! This prevents low-end build-up and keeps your mix sounding clean and spacious.

Delay

Add depth with rhythmic delays. Use ping-pong for width and 1/8 note delays for lead vocal character.
